Here's your February Lunkerland winner, Mr Joe Collins from the sunny state of Florida where Bass grow fast and Zombies run wild! Joe will receive a gO fiSh cap and a $25 gift card to BPS! Congrats Joe and stop scaring all the little children with those crazy-eyes!

FL -  Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the lake! Coming soon to a Theater near you, "ZOMBIE-ANGLER!"  A group of young fisherman who refused to practice catch & release have become infected by the Largemouth Bass Virus and are on a mission to help preserve the now endangered species..................Micropterus Salmoides! Whatever you do, don't catch a largemouth, it could be your Last-Cast! Joe, the movie star, seen above, caught this Lunker and was shooting with a new waterproof camera that fell in during the filming. He bravely removed his shirt and endured the 56 degree water to retrieve it! Good luck @ the box office Joe

Well, it's official! Our first Lunkerland winner is.....RYAN SHOAF and his PUP (BUDDY)...... from SC. (pictured below) The Producers had a meeting on the first of the month and tried to judge the best photo. They said it was too close to call due to all of the awesome photos and decided that the first contestant to inquire about the contest on the facebook.com/fishfishburne site would be our winner! Sounded good to me and even better to RYAN! He contacted me yesterday February 8th and the prize this month....a $25 Gift Card to BPS, a  gO fiSh cap and some DRY DOG FOOD! Thanks to all of you for the great photos and this month we will pick the winning photo on March 1st!

"SC - Let's begin by addressing mans best friend.  A wonderful animal that many people appear to value more than their spouse. This my friends is a lesson of LOVE! I cant read the name tag on that precious pup, but I will say, Kudos to you, Ryan, for having the where with all to be a responsible pet owner. I have encountered many felines and canines without collars and proper ID and it pains me to think of the little-lost-loved ones. Now... it does seem that your dog is on point, watching every move you make, just begging for the chance to scale, decapitate, and devour those two big fish-filets your holding in an unnatural elevated position. Dog food is made from fish, primarily carp, but bass surely taste good to OLD YELLER! (and if you like having your tears-jerked, you should all rent the 1957 Walt Disney film about a boy and a stray dog, oh my....take a deep breath) Anyway, nice fish, probably dead by now, but still in tact, when the photo was taken. Now, I'm actually starting to question whether your such a responsible man after all. I mean why take that savage fish-killing machine in your boat in the first place, Ryan, Sorry...got a little carried away there. I better go....I'm having very mixed feeling about pets at this point.....and I see, he's still pointing! Thanks for the photo!"

TN - Randy looks like your wife, who probably took this photo was kind enough to submit it for you. (Where would we be without the ladies?) So, if you were to win this months prize with that Bite-Sized-Striper, (take it easy, I'm just truthful) the question then becomes, will she get the prize, or would you tell her that it was your angling effort that deserves the kudos? I say she's entitled to the take, but first you'd have to win, and this fish needs to be drastically inflated!

MN - Here is a scary photo. Am I talking about the fish or Jayson's expression of rage, anger or celebration? Either way, I'm still scared. Actually, I'm having a hard time identifying what this Alligator-Lizard-Looking creature may be. It's could be a Burbot or an Eelpout which are two different species that are commonly confused. It would help to see the tail shape or the potential barbel on his chin to help ID this guy. But, I think I see two distinct dorsal fins, leading me in the direction of Burbot. But he's much larger than most which leads me back to Eelpout, which reach a length of over three feet. Bottom line, scary photo and the light on your head bothers me further! Nice eel-fish!  MA - Craig with a 9 lb 13oz Lunker Bass from the depths of Lake El' Salto in Mexico. He claims that on that same day, he had a fish estimated at 16 lbs straighten out his hook. (using cheap stuff?) Craig, I must say that fisherman already have a reputation for stretching the truth, let alone just plain out and out boldface lying. But you could have told us that this fish was caught in MA and it would have been a much greater feat.( By the way, the state record was caught in Sampson Pond in 1975 by Walter Bolonis and weighed 15.8 lbs.) Maybe you Craig, are a man of integrity and honesty, which would really be a good thing, if you were a used car salesman. I do however appreciate the photo and the truth. Nice fish, good job!

WA - Here is a photo of a photo and that immediately made me suspicious. However, I'm not going to risk having to see a surgeon by upsetting a man named Billy who obviously man handled this 96 lb. Sturgeon! What? Anyway, these guys are true living fossils and are considered pound for pound the most valuable fish harvested due to their roe which is made into caviar. And there are over twenty species of  these goliaths and most are considered endangered? They grow over 18 feet  in length and weigh hundreds of pounds and Billy, you caught a baby! But I've never caught one so good for you! Did you eat it or sell the roe? Awesome Fish!

CA - Joe is displaying a mammoth Smallmouth that supposedly crushed a Wake-Bait on a lake in Cali. However, the background in this photo seemingly appears to be fake. I say this due to the water reflections, coloration and lighting/shadowing on his brow which reminds me of the "Man on the Moon" conspiracy. Joe, I am going to give you the benefit of my doubt, because typically, if you were a dishonest man, you would have altered the bass and not the photo! You are a Smallmouth Monster Angler! Nice Job!

VA - Well! This is what bass fishing needs! More ladies to get involved in the sport and show the guys what's up! And if this contestant named Tonya isn't a fishing-phenom, than who is? Two, not just one, but two twin Lunker-like-football-chunky-bookends. Now, the pup in the picture concerns me greatly. Is this just the smell-small lackadaisical-look before the onslaught and scale removal-bass- biting-bonanza that these crazed canines enjoy? (Sorry, got a little carried away there) Seeing as our last winner had a dog in his picture, maybe you guys are playing on my love of animals soft spot. I do want to say thanks to the man of the house for submitting this photo and maybe we'll all see this bassin' gal on tour soon.

IA- This Red Oak Iowa Angler Robert, submitted this great bass photo and said that the only item on his Bucket "Mouth" list was to catch the state record! That is a tall order now that I've done the research and found that you would need a 10 lb 13 oz giant to break the current record set back in 84'. I would suggest that you try to obtain a different record. Such as the Rock Bass which is currently held @ 1 lb 8 oz. Or possibly, you could introduce a new category such as the common aquarium goldfish! It's time to lower your expectations, Robert, and quit reaching for the moon!

? - Jason is seen here holding what looks to me like a beautiful Cod fish that he claims he caught on a yellow spinner-bait in 140 ft of water on bass tackle! Well, after studying the photo with magnification, I see that he's on a big boat with at least two other anglers, one to the left and one in the window facing right. We don't know where they are or what they're fishing for but this is a sweet rather robust cod, that if in fact did fall victim to a spinner dinner,(140 feet seems like a bit of a stretch) then that my friends would be quite a remarkable feat! Dude, next time, send more details!

MI - A rather scrappy Bluegill captured by Grandson Drew and sent in by Grandma Teresa. She wrote to tell me that spending time with the grand kids in Michigan last summer was wonderful and the kids had a ball fishing with Grandpa and minnows! It's so fantastically awesome that you guys spent time in the great outdoors having fun fishing! And the best part is that those memories will last forever! My best memories of my Grandma were summertime fishing as well! (Ok, I'm starting to tear up here, need to blow my nose now!) Drew, regarding your panfish, I say bravo to you sir and keep up the good work!

FL - Let's all Welcome, The Notorious "PATRICK-BIG DADDY-SULLIVAN!"  He's in the house bringing It Big-Time-Bass-Lilly-Pad-Style! What a FISH and what a Great smile! You are obviously a Big Bass Connoisseur with great expectations to hopefully someday dominate the professional ranks among the  Bass circuits and have your own fishing show called, "PATRICKS-BIG-BASS-BLOW-OUT!" I'll definitely watch your program and believe it will be a huge hit! And, maybe you could give me some pointers, cause I never catch bass that big!
