"Team Grandma," Kathryn Rounsaville, passed away in January. She was Fish's biggest fan and allowed him to chase the dream of becoming a professional angler at the age of 19. She sponsored and supported his television ventures and was very helpful with show concepts based on her career in radio broadcast. Needless to say, Fish's fun loving personality came directly from Team Grandma as she was quite the entertainer! The following editorial was entered on the morning she passed.
This page is written and updated by Fish's Grandmother. And for those of you who don't know me, I AM the ONLY reason that he can fish for a living. It's a long story, but I have nothing else to do. Still, I'll keep it short. Here goes...
Fish wanted to be a pro angler. He was 20 yrs old, broke, living at home, couldn't (or should I say wouldn't) get a job and finally I gave in. I said, "I'll sponsor you." He took the cash, hit the road, made the Bassmaster Classic, won tournaments, got a TV show, never grew up, and is now doing "tHe fiSh fiShbUrne shOw" on the Outdoor Channel. Oh, and by the way, my sponsorship name is: TEAM GRANDMA. Thanks and join me on his facebook page if you need any dirt on Fish!
Here are some fiSh faCts:
Born: July 12,19?? in Atlanta, GA

Biggest Bass Caught: Don't ask him, unless you like embellishment.
Favorite Fish: Anything that swims.
Favorite Lure: Whatever works, and he collects Bagley Lures.

Host of "Outdoor Channel's" Ultimate Match Fishing
Host of TNN's "gO fiSh!"

Several other top ten finishes, but who's counting?
Tips to Become a Better Angler:
~ Practice casting. Take the hooks off first, and take aim at all kinds of things.(Outdoors!)
~ Fish with new people (not strangers). Try what they try, watch, and ask lots of questions.
~ Be very nice to people with bass boats. Then ask them to go fishing.
~ Read everything you can get your hands on. Go fishing in your library!
~ Don't hook yourself! Fish says it really hurts.
~ In darker water, rely on vibration and sound.
~ In clear water, use realistic flashy baits and light line.
~ Go to school. If you skip school your parents won't let you go fishing.
~ Practice catch-and-release. This way you can catch that fish again and again.
~ Fish cover! Bass love fallen trees, docks, and anything else they can hide behind.
~ Be patient! This means don't give up and don't throw your rod in the lake (unless you can swim really well).
~ Remember, fishing is fun. If you're not having fun, change something.
